Guitar Lessons
I've been teaching guitar professionally for over 22 years, helping hundreds of students develop their playing through structured, personalised one-to-one tuition.
Lessons take place in my purpose-built home studio in Huncote, where the focus is simple: to help students make steady, meaningful progress while building a solid musical foundation that lasts.
Lessons are tailored to the individual. There is no "one size fits all" method — every student arrives with different goals, experiences and expectations. My role is to provide structure, clarity and guidance in a way that keeps development consistent, enjoyable and sustainable.
For students who choose to work towards graded exams, I'm proud to have maintained a 100% pass rate through the London College of Music Examinations (LCME).
A Calm, Structured Approach to Learning
Learning guitar is not just about technique. It's about building confidence, managing expectations and developing patience over time.
My teaching style is supportive and focused, combining practical exercises with clear explanations so you always understand what you're working towards — and why.
Whether you're picking up a guitar for the first time, returning after a break or looking to move beyond a plateau, lessons are designed to help you progress at a pace that feels both rewarding and achievable.
I teach young people (typically from age 12+) and adults of all experience levels, though much of my work is with adult learners balancing music alongside work and family life.
Lessons are designed to fit around real life — not compete with it.
Online Lessons
Alongside in-person tuition, I also offer online lessons for students who live outside the local area.
All you need is a reliable internet connection and a quiet space to play. The structure and approach remain exactly the same — clear, focused and personalised to you.
Exam Tuition
For students who wish to formalise their progress, I offer grade exam tuition from Preliminary to Diploma level using the RGT guitar syllabus from London College of Music Examinations (LCME).
Exams are entirely optional, but they can provide useful structure and clear milestones for those who enjoy working towards defined goals.
How Lessons Work
I operate a simple monthly flat-fee system.
This provides:
-
A reserved weekly lesson slot
-
Consistent scheduling and routine
-
Predictable monthly payments
-
Steady, uninterrupted progress
Learning an instrument works best with consistency. The monthly structure reflects that and helps avoid the stop-start pattern that often slows progress.
Your monthly fee includes your reserved lesson time, personalised one-to-one tuition, professionally prepared learning resources where appropriate, and ongoing guidance to help support your progress.
Lessons are available in both 30-minute and 60-minute formats, depending on your goals and experience.
Monthly Tuition
Weekly 60-minute lessons – £160 per month
Weekly 30-minute lessons – £80 per month
Fortnightly 60-minute lessons – £80 per month
All lessons take place in my dedicated, fully equipped home studio in Huncote, providing a comfortable, distraction-free environment where students can relax and focus on learning.
Who My Lessons Are Particularly Suited To
-
Young people (typically from age 12+) and adults looking for structured, personalised guidance
-
Beginners who want clear direction and a solid musical foundation
-
Players returning to guitar after a break
-
Students balancing music alongside school, work or family life
-
Guitarists who value patience, consistency and long-term progress over shortcuts
Many of my students continue lessons for several years, progressing from complete beginners to confident, capable musicians. Others return to the guitar after time away and rediscover their enjoyment of playing through a calm, structured approach.
My teaching is centred around clarity, patience and building confidence over time — not quick fixes or unrealistic expectations.
